Free Range Creative Update
The image you are seeing here is a mock up of what is about to be pulled into reality. The old truck is a ticking clock with various issues, it needs rest. *UPDATE* I have decided to keep the truck only to haul the Dragon Wagon Food Cart.
So a mini cargo van for travel is in process of being procured at this time.
A few things have evolved in the FRC world.
- Once again this year I was invited to attend North Texas RPG Con in Dallas Texas.
- The local public access TV stations I film for have tasked me with creating another TV show. (Granted I nudged this into reality)
- I want to boost the FRC Youtube to over 5K subscribers for passive income
- I have been stewing on traveling around and painting en plein air in various interesting places in the off season.
All these things have come together into a one place.
- The new show will be The Free Range Creative. I will seek out and learn about creative people making human things and telling inspiring stories.
- Painting en plein air from the back of a cargo van is just good biz for carrying supplies.
- Road trips to Texas or ANYWHERE can be much simpler and affordable with a bunk in a van. I know flying is faster, but Kerouacian adventures don’t happen that way.
- A solid van can still easily haul the Dragon Wagon and save me money as a camper for RenFaires
- This can also be a mobile place to sell art and creations online from anywhere.
- From a van I can find outlandish things to film, paint, livestream, and make interesting compelling, human content.
The bank is on board (We have an approval to purchase) and this weekend we have a couple vans picked out to test drive, and should be driving a van home early next week. At this stage I need to get to work figuring out how the wiring needs to work, getting bunks in, and everything else that’s needed.
I am already focused on driving nearly 4000 miles at the end of May and the first couple weeks of June to Dallas Ft. Worth for North Texas RPG Con. Along the way I am bringing a helper and we are filming, painting, making art, seeking out the most outlandish roadside attractions, and living an on-road adventure. If this works, I will continue with smaller trips that include Tuka The Wonder Dog.
I have someone helping me put together a Discord server for this and I need to learn the platform and work out how I will stream on the road, upload videos, have exclusive content for paid members, and generally document the whole thing without missing anything – but still pulling editing and postings together.
End Goal
There is a bigger goal here. if I can make this mobile Free Range Creative idea even somewhat lucrative, I would like to set up a more southern piece of land as a winter home base of operations. From there the show can continue, and I can slowly work toward another project that…. will come to light when we get this part done. That project will be to help other artists find their feet, reject ai, and embrace the verdant world.
This adventure will create:
- Human made art and prints
- A public access TV show that will air across the country video PEG media distribution
- Youtube show
- other media posts (Insta, FB, Discord)
- Livestreams if possible (dependent on mobile internet access)
Yes – I am accepting sponsors. I don’t know exactly what sponsorship should look like right now, but I am open to ideas and suggestions. The fishing show I did aired across the country and had a lot of eyes on it. I am confident that can be replicated here and done better.
Keep an eye out for the discord server soon. If you want to sponsor or have ideas, contact me. Here we go!
